Merge PDF Files Without Uploading Them
Scanned a 20-page contract as separate files? Or a bank statement exported page by page? Merging fixes that — and doing it in your browser means the contract, tax document or medical report is never sent to anyone's server.
Steps
- Open the Merge PDF tool.
- Select all the PDFs you want combined (or drag them in).
- Drag the file cards to set the page order.
- Click Merge and download the single PDF.
- Too big for an email or portal? Compress it to a target size afterwards.
When merging on a server is risky
Merge tools that work "in the cloud" receive your documents at full fidelity and store a copy during processing. For anything you wouldn't email to a stranger — ID scans, leases, payslips, medical records — a local merge is the better default. PaperRail runs the engine in your browser with WebAssembly; the upload pipe simply doesn't exist.
Alternatives inside PaperRail
- Alternate merge — interleave two scans page by page (duplex scanning recovery).
- Split PDF — the opposite problem: one huge file into sections.
- Delete pages — drop blanks or junk pages while you're at it.
