About PaperRail

PaperRail is a free, privacy-first PDF toolbox that runs entirely inside your browser. When you merge, split, compress, convert or OCR a file here, the work is done by WebAssembly code on your own device — there is no server that uploads, stores or reads your documents.

What you get

• No accounts, no file uploads, no processing queue.
• Office files (DOCX/XLSX/PPTX) convert to PDF via LibreOffice compiled to WebAssembly — still in-browser.

Open source & credits

PaperRail is built on the open-source BentoPDF project (AGPL-3.0), with our own branding, SEO landing pages and Guide content. We thank the upstream BentoPDF author and every processing-library author (LibreOffice, PyMuPDF, Ghostscript, Tesseract, PDF.js and more — see their respective licenses). Our modified source, including the in-browser LibreOffice loader, is published at github.com/qdx-loop/paperrail.
